Geneva, Ohio - March 6, 2026 -Two Lorain student-athletes put up solid performances at the OATCC State Championship indoor track and field invitational, representing their school with pride and delivering results that reflect months of hard work and dedication.
JAZION MOORE — LONG JUMP
Jazion Moore had a solid performance in the long jump, leaping 20 feet, 8.50 inches to claim 12th place out of a highly competitive field. Competing against athletes from across the state, Moore's mark of 20-8.50 is a testament to his athleticism and continued growth as a jumper. Though he was disappointed with his result, he learned from the experience and looks forward Nike Indoor Nationals next week and the outdoor season!
JASEER MCELYA — SHOT PUT
Jaseer Mcelya represented Lorain in the shot put, launching a throw of 48 feet, 5.75 inches to earn 14th place in a deep and talented lineup. Mcelya's throw placed him among some of the best shot putters in Division I in just his 2nd indoor meet.
A STRONG INDOOR SEASON
Both Moore and Mcelya have had impressive indoor seasons, building momentum heading into the outdoor track and field campaign. Their performances in this state championship serves as a fitting cap to a great stretch of indoor competition, showcasing the talent and depth developing within the Lorain athletics program.
