January 3, 2026 – Ada, Ohio - The Lorain High School Titans opened the new year with an explosive performance at the Western Ohio Track Coaches High School Indoor Meet, posting an impressive collection of personal bests and competitive finishes that signal the program's continued ascent.
Boys Team Steps Up
Sprint Power
Jazion Moore continued his breakout season with a blistering 7.17 in the 60m dash, good for 4th place overall and a new personal best. Moore proved he's a dual threat by also placing 7th in the long jump with a leap of 19-3.75.
The sprint crew delivered en masse, with Amarian Miller clocking a personal best of 7.42 in the 60m (12th place), while Jacob Ford posted personal bests in both the 60m (7.83) and the 200m.
Troy Jones showed his 200m prowess with a personal best of 24.92, placing 16th in a competitive field and proving the Titans have depth at every distance.
Hurdles Breakthrough
Camren Spraggins delivered the performance of the day, smashing his personal best with a 9.89 in the 60m hurdles to finish 8th overall. The sub-10 time establishes Spraggins as one of the premier hurdlers in the region.
Distance Development
The young distance squad showed tremendous promise. Freshman J'Marion DeWitt posted a personal best of 2:35.91 in the 800m, displaying the kind of grit that makes ninth-graders dangerous. Michah Eskridge competed well in the 1600m with a time of 5:27.26.
Field Event Growth
Jaden Mosley cleared a personal best of 5-2 in the high jump (9th place), showing steady improvement in the vertical events.
Girls Team Shows Promise
Sprints
Autumn Roberts was a double personal best machine, posting 8.63 in the 60m dash (29th) and 10.25 in the 60m hurdles (8th place). Her hurdles performance was particularly impressive, cracking the top 10 in a loaded field.
Viviana Chavez continued her early-season surge with a personal best of 8.85 in the 60m dash.
The Underclassmen
The future is bright for Lorain Track & Field, and it showed in the personal best parade from the younger athletes:
Ja'Myriah Oliver posted personal bests across two events - 60m and 400m (1:20.42) - showcasing the kind of versatility that makes coaches smile. Fellow freshman Elyanna Arkel set a personal best in the 60m Hurdles (12.31) and 200M (32.95).
Aliyah Arkel also had three personal bests in the 60m (10.08), 200M (39.66), and 400M (1:29.61) respectively, showing tremendous improvement in her first indoor meet.
Karianys Melendez also set three personal bests: 10.31 in the 60m, 37.92 in the 200m, and 1:40.71 in the 400m.
Distance Grit
Abby Palazzola tackled the 1600m and posted a personal best of 6:46.18 (15th place), demonstrating the championship determination that defines Lorain distance runners.
Lara Wimmer showed her range with personal bests in both the 400m (1:31.09) and 800m (3:47.83), proving she's a weapon at multiple distances.
Jumping Success
J'Me Hood continued her strong season in the long jump with a mark of 13-4.75 (14th place) and set a personal best in the 60m hurdles (11.15, 12th place).
Relay Excellence
The boys' 4x200m relay team delivered a strong 5th place finish (1:41.80), showing the kind of team chemistry that wins championships. The 4x800m relay also competed well, finishing 9th with a time of 11:26.30.
The girls' 4x200m relay placed 7th overall (2:02.80), continuing to build on their solid foundation.
