Boys' basketball tryouts are scheduled for October 31 from 2:30-4:00 for students in grades 9-10 and 4:00-5:30 for grades 11-12, and Nov 1 from 8:00-10:00 for grades 9-10 and 10:00-12:00 for grades 11-12. Students are required to attend both sessions. Students should enter through the gym doors located on the north end of the building.
PHYSICAL EXAMS - Physical exams can be scheduled through your family doctor or through many of the local walk-in options. All athletes MUST have a current physical on file before they can try out for a team or begin practicing. Physical exam forms can be accessed on the website or at the school. Physical exam expiration dates are listed in Final Forms. Washington Elementary has a walk-in clinic where students can get this completed. Parents can call 440-444-1757 to schedule an appointment.
FINAL FORMS - All electronic paperwork will need to be completed in Final Forms by the day prior to the first day of tryouts. Students will not be able to try out for the team unless this is completed. All Lorain City Schools students have a Final Forms account. Any parent or student that is having any difficulties getting this completed should contact the Final Forms Hotline: (440) 830-4024.
TRYOUT FORMAT - All tryouts are closed to the public. Exactly how the tryout is structured is based on a number of factors which includes, but is not limited to, the number of participants and overall skill level of the participants. Tryouts may last beyond the scheduled dates, and the exact number of days may change throughout the process. The goal is for the coach(s) to be able to make an informed decision.
