Huron & Amherst, Ohio — April 24–25, 2026
It was a split weekend for the Lorain Titans track and field program. On Friday, the boys made the trip to Huron for the Huron Invitational before a rain delay cut the meet short, though not before several Titans had the chance to compete in field events, 100m dash and the 4x800 relay. On Saturday, the girls traveled to Amherst for the 70th Annual Comet Relays and put together a well-rounded team effort — led by a standout double from junior Autumn Roberts in the hurdles.
The Girls Headliner
Junior Autumn Roberts delivered the kind of performance that turns heads at a large invitational. Competing in the hurdles double, Roberts earned a third-place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a personal best time of 15.79, then returned later in the day to run a personal best 50.04 in the 300 meter hurdles for fifth place. Scoring points in two individual events at a meet of this size — and setting personal bests in both — speaks to Roberts' composure and versatility as a hurdler. She wasn't finished there, adding appearances in the long jump and relay legs to cap an impressive day.
Other Girls Standouts
Senior Brajhia Phillips anchored the Titans in the throws, placing ninth in discus at 102-02 and seventh in shot put at 34-08.50, a season record. Junior Viviana Chavez posted a personal best 13.60 in the 100 meters, while Ava Miller showed her range — earning a personal best in the long jump of 14 feet 10 inches and tying for sixth in the high jump at 4-03. Jme Hood added a personal best long jump of 13-05.75, and sophomore Jayla King set a personal best of 20-10.50 in the shot put.

The 4x100 team of Karlee Patterson,Jme Hood, Janelle Butler, and Viviana Chavez ran 53.37, and the 4x200 unit of Jme Hood Janelle Butler, Autumn Roberts, and Viviana Chavez crossed in 1:53.18. Boys at Huron — Long Jump
Before the rain arrived to disrupt the afternoon, Lorain's boys had a chance to compete in the long jump. Jazion Moore turned in the best individual performance of the day for the Titans, winning the event outright with a personal best leap of 21 feet, 11.25 inches — the longest jump in the field. Donte Tinsley II also competed well, landing third overall at 20 feet, 9 inches. The two combined to give Lorain a strong showing in what was one of the most competitive field events on the card. Moore also finished 3rd in the 100m (11.32) and Tinsley was 5th with a time of 11.53.
Boys at Huron — 4x800 Relay
The Lorain 4x800 relay squad of Abimelec Rivera, J'Marion Dewitt, Jaaron Kidd, and Micah Eskridge also had the opportunity to compete before the weather intervened, finishing sixth with a time of 9:20.23. In a meet featuring several strong distance programs, the quartet ran a solid race and gained valuable experience together as a unit heading into the championship portion of the season.
Looking Ahead
The Titans will be back in action on Wednesday at Strongsville for a dual, Friday at the Avon Reynolds Invitational and Saturday at the Vermilion JV Invitational.
