Lorain, Ohio - April 22, 2026 - The Lorain Titans returned to George Daniel Stadium on Wednesday and delivered a performance worthy of their home crowd — routing the Cleveland Heights Tigers in a dual meet that was never in doubt. When the final marks were tallied, Lorain had claimed a commanding 162–84 victory, with both the boys and girls squads earning decisive wins and producing performances that will resonate heading into the stretch run of the season.

The Headliners
On the boys' side, the trio of Jazion Moore, Donte Tinsley II, and Jeramiah Daniels continued to make the Lorain sprint corps one of the most feared in the county. Moore set the tone early with a stunning 10.42 in the 100 meters — a personal best and the top time in the field — then followed with a 21.99 in the 200. Tinsley matched him stride for stride, clocking a 10.61 in the 100 and 22.39 in the 200, while Daniels completed Lorain's sweep of the 100 with a 10.78 to round out a clean 1-2-3 finish in both sprints. On the same afternoon, Moore claimed first in the long jump at 22 feet, 9.5 inches, further cementing his status as one of the most complete athletes in Lorain County.

On the girls' side, Viviana Chavez emerged as the headline performer of the day. She swept both the 200 meters — posting a 26.68 to claim first — and returned to anchor the 4x200 relay squad that also took the top spot. Chavez's double, combined with a third-place finish in the 400, gave her one of the most productive individual days of any Titan in either meet this week. Alongside her, Autumn Roberts was once again Lorain's iron woman, winning both hurdle events — the 100 meter hurdles in 15.27 and the 300 meter hurdles in 49.39 — to score 10 individual points for the Titans and continue her case as the best hurdler in the conference.

Boys Highlights
Sprints
The Lorain boys swept the 100 meters, 200 meters, and long jump — a trio of events that alone would have made for a standout day. Moore (10.42), Tinsley (10.61), and Daniels (10.78) finished 1-2-3 in the 100, and repeated the feat in the 200 with Moore (21.99), Tinsley (22.39), and Daniels (21.42 — leading the field) going back-to-back-to-back in a display of sprint depth that few programs in Ohio can match. Jacob Ford added a solid 23.37 in the 200, and Jones contributed 6th-place points as the bottom of the Lorain order continued to produce.

Hurdles
Cameron Spraggins had one of his best dual meet performances of the season, claiming first in both hurdle events — 16.03 in the 110 meter hurdles and 44.03 in the 300 meter hurdles. Kaiden Corbin backed him up with second and third-place finishes, respectively, and Humberto Melendez rounded out a Lorain scoring presence in both races. The hurdle corps, which has steadily improved since the early season, is now producing points at every height.

Distance
Lorain swept the top three spots in the 1600 meters behind Micah Eskridge (5:21.63), Esteban Gil (5:23.69), and Alexis Rodriguez (5:51.08), and followed with another top-three sweep in the 800, where Jaaron Kidd (2:14.49), Abimelec Rivera (2:14.95), and Marco Sanchez (2:20.08) ran nearly in lockstep. Eskridge also contributed a fifth-place finish in the 800 after already competing in the mile, demonstrating the kind of competitive hunger the distance crew has shown all season. The 4x800 squad of Sanchez, Fraizer, Clark, and Rodriguez ran a solid second-place finish as well.

Field Events
Amari Ammons anchored the field effort, earning second in the shot put (35 feet, 7 inches) and third in the discus (88’8” feet), with Davis and Howell making Lorain's throwing corps one of the strongest at the meet. Moore claimed first in the long jump (22-9.5), Tinsley took second (20-4), and Loppe added a third-place finish (17-8) to give Lorain a clean sweep. In the high jump, Moore cleared 5 feet, 8 inches to win, with Ford (5-6) and Mosely (5-4) completing another sweep for the home team.

Girls Highlights
Sprints & Hurdles
Autumn Roberts was once again Lorain's most complete girls' competitor, winning the 100 meter hurdles (15.27) and the 300 meter hurdles (49.39) to score 10 points in a single afternoon — a performance that underscores just how dominant she has become in both disciplines this season. Viviana Chavez won the 200 meters in 26.68 and placed third in the 400 (1:08.27), while J'Me Hood added a second-place finish in the 100 hurdles (18.37) and third in the 300s (55.43). Elyanna Arkel also scored in the hurdles with a third-place finish in the 100 (19.76), giving Lorain a sweep of the top three in that event.

Distance
Abby Palazzola and Melanie Verdin continued to anchor the girls' distance corps, with Palazzola running 6:31.47 for second in the 1600 and Verdin adding a third (6:42.97), as well as competing in the 3200 (14:28.57). Fola Fasola claimed second in the 800 (2:55.33) and Bee Ruic added a third (3:01.99), keeping Lorain in the scoring column across all four distance events of the afternoon.

Field Events
Brajhia Phillips was dominant in the field, winning the shot put with a throw of 34 feet, 5 inches — a new season best — and claiming first in the discus at 101 feet, 7 inches. It was a complete throwing performance and a reminder that Phillips is among the most dangerous field athletes in the county heading into the postseason. Ava Miller swept the long jump (15-0) and high jump (4-6), with Karlee Patterson adding second in the high jump (4-6) and J'Me Hood contributing a second-place mark (14-5) in the long jump to complete a dominant day for Lorain in the vertical and horizontal jumps.

Relays
The girls' relay squads continued to build momentum and pick up crucial points. The 4x100 of Miller, Chavez, Hood, and Roberts won in 51.30 — a performance that gave Lorain five immediate points and signaled that this group is peaking at the right time. The 4x200 squad of Butler, Chavez, Miller, and Roberts backed it up with a winning 1:50.97. The 4x400 and 4x800 relays saw Cleveland Heights take the top spots, but Lorain's depth kept them competitive throughout both races.

Looking Ahead
The schedule does not slow down. The boys travel to the Huron Invitational on Friday, and the girls head to the Amherst Comet Relays on Saturday — two marquee invitationals that will offer a clearer picture of where this program stands as championship season draws near. The calendar is turning. So are the Lorain Titans.
